The Ahl ul Bait (S.A)

Allah Subhanahu states in Quraan: -O' ye people of the house, and purify you with a thorough purification. This quranic verse is famous as the Aayet e Tathir, which points to the Ahl ul Bait (S.A). One of the sahabie of Rasulallah (S.A) states- At the revelation of this Aayet, Rasulallah (S.A) assembled his daughter Fatema (S.A) her sons Hasan and Husain (S.A) and her husband Ali (A.S). He covered them including himself under a mantel and addressing Allah said " O' Allah! These constitute my progeny! Keep them away from any kind of impurity, purified with a perfect purification". Umme Salama, the wife of Rasulallah (S.A) in whose house, the prophet was at that time witnessing this marvellous occasion, humbly submitted to the prophet. O' messenger of Allah! "May I also join this group? " To which the holy prophet replied, " No please, remain where thou are, as I am commanded by Allah that I should allow no one under this mantel except my Ahl e Bait (S.A)."

Truly, they were the holy Ahl ul Bait (S.A) was further proved on the occasion of the historic event of Mubahala, when Rasulallah (S.A) was commanded by Allah to call the Christians of Najran to a spiritual contest in the presence of Muslims and non Muslims. The relevant Aayet of Quraan says: - If anyone disputes in this matter with thee, now after full knowledge had come of thee say: Come let us gather together, our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie". In response to this Rasulallah (S.A) came out with his daughter Fatema (S.A), her sons Hasan and Husain (S.A) followed by her husband Ali (S.A). This simple act of faith was so inspiring that it compelled a spontaneous surrender by the Christians of Najran. On another occasion Rasulallah (S.A) said: "The likeness of my Ahl ul Bait (S.A) is that the ark of Nooh (A.S), whoever got into it got saved, and whoever turned away from it got drowned and lost.

The Ahl e Bait (S.A) enjoyed an exalted position by the order of Allah can be seen in the following Aayat. "No reward do I ask of you except the love of those near the Kin". This verse is clear in its meaning that the holy prophet is commanded to ask the believer to love his holy Ahl e Bait (S.A). That was the reward Rasulallah (S.A) asked from his followers for having guiding them all his life to the right path. Besides the clear evidence in Quraan about the significance of the status of Ahl e Bait (S.A) there are several other authentic sayings of Rasulallah (S.A). Imam Jafar us Sadiq (S.A) States, that a group of mumineen came upon him from Khurasan. Imam's sight fell on a mumin's feet that were bleeding and Imam (S.A) inquired about it, Mumin replied " this is because of the long journey O the son of Rasulallah (S.A) and by Allah's faith, only your mohabbat has brought me here" Imam stated with warm reception " By Allah's faith you would be justified on the day of Judgment with us. We are the Ahl ul Bait (S.A) we constitute our grandfather Rasulallah's (S.A) progeny."

Today Moulana Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) is present in the maqaam of Imam uz Zaman (S.A), as Moulana (TUS) states, "Imam uz Zaman (S.A) has authorized me to work in his place, and I have the full authority to continue with the matters of Dawat". Truly Moulana (TUS) is the captain of the ship of Dawat, and is leading the ship through tremendous waves. As Syedna Taher Saifuddin (R.A) states:- Aa Dawat nu nigahbaan choo… Safina nu mein kaptaan choo…

May Allah enhance the Umar Sharif of Moulana Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) till Qayamet. Truly these pious Doat Mutlaqeen (A.S) have been authorized by Imam Uz Zaman (S.A) in his seclusion. They do constitute the progeny of Rasulallah (S.A), as Rasulallah (S.A) once facing HIND said to his sahabies, "those Doat Mutlaqeen (A.S) are my brothers and you all are my companions."
